Use -n option as shown to get line numbers in output. To install, simply download the file and run. On the Windows Command Line (CMD), the equivalent to grep is findstr. grep allows you to print line numbers along with printed lines which makes it easy to know where the line is in the file. Once you've found what you're looking for, you can open the files found for viewing or editing, or you can replace the text found with something else.
